Infused Water
The human body is made up of 50-65% water!
Water is hugely important for each and every cell of our bodies, our mental and physical ability depend on it, so staying hydrated is essential for health and vitality.
Even more so over the warm summer months when the weather is hot and we’re more active meaning we lose more water through sweat.
On average we should be drinking about 2 litres of water per day and drinking that much water can get a bit boring right?
Herbal teas can make up part of your daily water intake but I don’t know about you but I’m not really fancying hot drinks right now.
Well, by infusing your water with pretty much any fruit, veggies, citrus fruit, berries and herbs, the lovely flavours will make your water really tasty and so much more enjoyable to drink.
Play around and experiment with different flavours, prepare the evening before and keep the bottle or jug in the fridge for a cool refreshing drink the following day.
My kids absolutely love infused water, they are more fun to drink and are so much better that fruit juices or shop bought infused waters which may have any number of additives and sweeteners.
Some flavour combinations to get started with:
lemon, mint and ginger cucumber and mint raspberries, strawberries and blueberries lemon, basil and strawberry
Stay hydrated and enjoy the summer!
